Policy Change & Inter-Generational Dialogue are crucial in changing how the international community responds to local issues and collaborates with indigenous communities to ensure that colonial legacies are transformed into collective locally-led action. Through our policy team, YTN focuses on translating not only research findings but also youth perspectives into actionable policy recommendations and advocacy initiatives. YTN conducts policy analysis, and policy development, and produces policy recommendations (for long-term goals in engaging with stakeholders directly or present at international events). Overall, our policy work plays a critical role in bridging the gap between research and action, global north and global south, and in advocating for policy change & intergenerational dialogue that reflects the voices and priorities of young people from the Global South. We aim to drive systemic transformation towards more inclusive and equitable approaches to peace and security.
